Introducing…Bright Colors all Spring 22’

If you’ve been plugged into our Instagram over the weekend you caught a glimpse of this breath taking Candy Apple Green Zara Suit that I wore to a friends surprise birthday event. I remember laying eyes on the suit as I walked into Zara in Atlanta, GA. It was literally love at “first sight.” I’m still confused on why there isn’t a Zara located in Charlotte, NC however, I digress, back to the suit that captured everyone’s attention. I mean the fit was perfect and it paired ever so nicely with a satin shine strap push-up bra from Victoria's Secret and a pair of Mark Fisher sling back pumps. This look screams fun, flirty and fabulous.

If you’re still playing around with the idea of transitioning your wardrobe to everything Spring, no worries, I’m here to help you along the way. I want to be sure you’re showing up boldly with intentionality in jaw dropping looks. I’ve always been drawn to pairing bold colors, prints and fabrics while cultivating looks which normally serves as a conversation starter.

Now, I’m sure when looking at this suit some would have opted for a safer route, like a solid top and some black pumps to feed off the button details. Unfortunately, we’re not playing it safe this year. We’ve been tucked away in our homes for over 2 years so it’s time to purchase pieces that align when your lifestyle and personality. I’m going to show you how to push the style envelop without looking as if you just pulled all the colors in your closet and got dressed. If you’re like, come on sis tell me more, go ahead and grab your notepad and pencil and lets get right to it.

We have to first unpack the idea that wearing neutral colors is the ultimate style hack that resonates with chic. When I think of those colors I immediately think of safe space and comfortability. Take a moment and think about it for a second when you wear those colors how do you feel? The decision to wear bright colors can resonate similar feelings as long as you keep the Do’s and Don’ts in mind while getting dressed. I feel powerful, motivated and inspired to do more when I wear bright clothes. I’ve realized on days when I’m not feeling 100% I lean into darker colors. I would love to know what thoughts immediately came to mind so be sure to drop those in the comments.

Now when it comes to introducing bright colors into your wardrobe you have to keep your skin tone in mind. Some skin tones look better with cooler tones ; blue, green and lilac, while others tend to look radiant with warm tones; red, yellow and orange. It’s important to know what matches best with your undertones therefore you don’t look washed out.

Lets go ahead and hop into the Do’s and Don’ts. If you’re unsure of how to make the transition into color, like anything else in life take things slow and start by adding color within your accessories. We want to push ourselves to introduce new colors within out wardrobe however, don’t mix to many colors that people feel as if you’ve painted the rainbow before you left the house. Add transitional pieces like dresses, suits, camisoles and colorful sweaters. Another no brainer is adding in Monochromatic looks because you can marry all candy apple green, money green and hunter green depending on the look you’re going for. One things I need to say as we are transitioning back in the office, don’t be the employee showing up to the business formal meeting with the brightest color in the room and everyone is staring at you in a state of confusion.

Sometimes we need a little inspiration and that’s totally fine, don’t forget to save these pins to your Pinterest boards and check out our Instagram feed for style inspiration. It’s always interesting working with clients that live in a style safe space (black and neutrals) and I introduce bold colors or prints. Adding a dose of color to your style regime is easier than you think once you open your heart and mind to it. So what do you say? Are you ready to introduce bright colors into your wardrobe?
