Do It Afraid!
Imagine waking up one day and realizing that everything you ever wanted was on the other side of fear? Would you be excited about the potential of new opportunities or would you sit and analyze missed opportunities? I’m sure you’re thinking why so many questions in the middle of the week however, questions are necessary because they challenge us to be honest with ourselves.
I know it’s a scary thought however, take a moment and think about everything that you’ve ever wanted to do but you talked yourself out of it. Regardless of how big or small the idea was, you were given it for a reason. I truly feel nothing happens by accident and it’s our responsibility to be self aware. I remember prior to the pandemic several people would send me messages suggesting that I start a #Blog and at times I would brush off the comment and then it came a point where I began to ask questions. I started with the easy ones’
Would you read the blog & engage?
How often would you expect a post?
What would you like to read about?
Would you share it with your friends?
See each question would give me quantifiable data that I could measure because the #SingleMother #HRProfessional #SoccerMom #DanceMom #Entrepreneur was already harmonizing a lot. I knew in order to show up with a level of excellence I had to be deliberate with writing because it would require more than 60 characters and a bomb photo. It would require effort and new level of accountability.
Believe it or not I tabled the idea for a long time while making excuses of all the reasons why I shouldn’t launch a blog. It wasn’t until mid 2021 I was reading a previous journal entry I had written and it read, “Fear is what keeps you in the way of your full potential.” That was the gentle reminder that I needed, it was important for me to get out of my own way. I didn’t spend much time trying to figure a name for the blog because I wanted to define the “meat and potatoes.” It had to be relatable, I wanted to show up authentically while sharing things that were important to me. So, I led with Faith, Family, Fashion and Fitness. I knew starting would be the hardest part however my determination would outweigh any ounce of fear.
Pages from the heart was birthed on February 14, 2022 at 9:16 in honor of my brother #Daniel continue to rest well baby bro. I could have easily downplayed my potential and allowed fear to keep me in uncharted territory however, that isn’t what God would want for me. He would want me to be courageous, bold, unmovable and focused on being who I’m called to be. I challenge you to do the same.
